St Michael’s Mount and Fireworks Extravaganza

With Bright moon, clear night sky and gentle breeze, brilliant fireworks splits
over the St Michael’s Mount，which makes it a beautiful picture.

Thousands of people gathered in Marazion to enjoy the magical performance,it is
the 60th year of the partnership between the National Trust and St Michael’s
Mount.

The Tuesday fireworks display starts at 9:45, when the cannons on the mountain
fires, there are also music and food.

Visitors from all over world enjoye the evening of fireworks with the backdrop
of the mountain silhouetted, they said that the fireworks made their holiday, “
We can not imagine a better location for the show！”

Challenges and Opportunities for Liuyang Fireworks

Liuyang fireworks sales was in a slump becuse of the hazy weather of China, some fireworks companies even considered to diverted into other industry.

To change the situation, Liuyang Fireworks Association organized several technology and trade conference from last year, the enterprises strengthed the efforts on technological improvements and environmental protection measures, they also made great efforts on changing the marketing strategys.

According to the Hunan Liuyang CIQ office statistics, in the first half year of 2014，the fireworks exports was about 636 million cases with sales of more than 1.3 billion yuan, with year-on-year growth of more than 16.8 percent.

Visual Treat: the Plymouth Fireworks Championships is Coming!

This year, the British Fireworks Championships will be held in Plymouth, it is one of the best fireworks displays in the UK，there are 6 top pyrotechnic companies which will give performances in September 12 and 13, the organizers says that 2 tonnes of fireworks will be set off during the event.

The championship will be started at 6:30pm, and fireworks at 9:30pm, there will also be entertainments and food, tens of thousands of spectators will come and watch this show.
This year’s game is hosted by TESA（the event services association）and plymouth city council, there will be a winner each night and overall winner will be announced in the end of Wednesday night.

Amazing Day-time Fireworks in Shanghai

Cai Guoqiang the artist set off fireworks above the Huangpu River, which kicks off Cai’s new exhibition called “The Ninth Wave”at Shanghai Contemporary Art Museum, and the exhibition runs until October 26.

The ephemeral fireworks display lasts about 8 minutes, the citizens said that the day-time fireworks is very fantastic, it is also Cai’s first fireworks show in Shanghai, some people even called the police.

The whole display includs 3 chapters：”Elegy”,”Memory” and “Comfort”, Cai says that the show is an expression of sorrow for the death of nature.

There are rumors says that the fireworks display may be harmful to the environment and also threats the public safety, but Cai declares that the performance has already get permission and the produts used was pollution-free.

Patriotic Fireworks Light Up Ottawa River

As one part of the “Casino Lac-Leamy Sound of Light shows”,the Wednesday night fireworks light up the night sky of Ottawa, the festival was first held in 1996, over 2 million spectators was attracted here.

The event starts at 9:15 pm, and the Alexandra Bridge was closed temporarily, earlier in the afternoon, plenty of festival tents were set up along the banks of Lake Leamy, people also enjoyed the food and music.

There are four teams this year, Hong Kong made the first performance on August 2, Portugal team will perform on this Saturday and the Swizerland team on August 13, there is also a grand finale on August 16, the winner will be announced then.

Roy Days Festival Fireworks Injured 10 Persons

Roy fire officials said that the accident on the annual Roy Days festival injured , it also caused a small fire in the Wset Park, there are also some children among the victims, said the officials.

People witnessed the accident said that it happened around 10:15 pm, there was an unexpected sideways blast，“I thought the show was over,but then one suddenly go sideways.”

Cai Guo-Qiang and His Art of Fireworks

Cai Guo-Qiang is a contemporary Chinese artist who lives in American, he created a Black
Lightning display for the reopening of Aspen Art Museum on August 2.

This was a daytime show, with a thunderous crash, a dark bolt of lightning suddenly apeared
above the mountain nearby the museum.

Cai is a famous artist around the world, he is also the director of visual and apecial
effects for the Beijing Olymipics opening and closing ceremonies.

His another work, One Night Stand: Explosion Event, was organized by the city of Paris. The
event is a conceptual pyrotechnic which took place on the 5th of October, 2013.

Second Night of the Honda Celebration of Light

As the second performance day of the Celebration of Light fireworks display, France pyrotechinic team presented a spectacular fireworks show in Vancouver at July 30, it is the
second installment of the Event.

Large crowds of spectators gathered at the English Bay to view the show, it started with pop
music and many French songs was palyed throughout the show, the spectators said that it was a
energetic show and the atmosphere was great. Some people said that the show is more
tremendous than the July 4 fireworks displays, and they chanted “Vive la France!” during the
show.

The fireworks lit up the night sky at 10pm, it is the only one show which took place on
weekdays, but it didn’t reduce the passion of the crowd, the organizers said that the
spectators on Wednesday is over 250000.

Man Lost his Hand in July 4 Accident Because of Illegal Fireworks Jared Spencer suffered from a badly fireworks injury in Nebraska and lost alimb, he was joining a party near 156th and Blondo Streets.

He said that he used fireworks that was banned in Nebraska, “I was always the guy with flashy fireworks, even some that were illegal”,said Spencer, the fireworks he lighted ignited early and blew apart his hand, then he was knocked on the ground.

The medics took him to the medical center but the doctors failed to keep his hand.

He wants other people to know the dangerous of illegal fireworks.

Festival of Lights on Burlington

The festival of lights will be hold on Augest 2 on the New Jersey side of the river, and the display will be visible from the historic Bristol woterfront.

For the past few years, the festival was held in Bristol Borough, but this year, the focus will shift back to Burlington.

There will be music concert from 4:00 to 6:00 by the Full Circle Band, there are also decorated boat parade at 8:00, festival food will be provided and big fireworks show starts at around 9:30.
