Details: There might not be any lights in the sky for the Fourth of July in Marietta this year because there isn't the funding to pay for it.
The treasurer of the Washington County Fair Board, David Tornes, says the fair board pays for the Fourth of July fireworks each year.
Currently they don't have enough money to pay for the display.
Tornes said "We need around $2,000 more in order to meet what we need to do to have the fireworks this year."
The board needs to have sponsorships or donations by their next meeting which is this Thursday at the clubhouse on the fairgrounds in order to have the fireworks. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
