Tickets for London 2015 New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show were Sold Out!

1213 12312

Bad news if you were planning on casually strolling down to central London on New Year’s Eve to watch the fireworks this year. You’ll be in for a sore disappointment. After announcing back in September that they were selling £10 tickets for this year’s explosive end of year ceremony, the Mayor’s office have just said that all 100,000 tickets are now completely sold out. That means that if you don’t have a ticket, you won’t be able get into the designated viewing areas.
Unlike past years, they won’t be screening them in Trafalgar Square or Parliament Square, the Royal Parks will also be closed and they’re advising that anyone without a ticket avoid the Embankment and South Bank areas and just stay home to watch the show on BBC One. Sad face. You’ll still be able to see them from high points like Primrose and Parliament Hills though and that’s free.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks: Moscow

00

In Moscow for new year’s eve 2014-2015 it’s all about the midnight fireworks in Red Square, and these are the iconic images that will be broadcast around the world the next day, with the backdrop of The Kremlin, Lenin’s Mausoleum, Saint Basil’s Cathedral and the Kazan Cathedral offering one of the most spectacular settings you will find anywhere in the world.

Adding to the atmosphere of the occasion are the sub-zero temperatures and high likelihood of a decent covering if snow, which create a winter wonderland effect for reflect the lights of the huge Red Square Christmas Tree as well as the spectacular fireworks – I think if you’re spending your new year in Moscow then it should go without saying that you need to wrap up very warm!

If you’re wary of the raucous crowds in Red Square, then why not take a wander along the banks of the city’s iconic Moskva River to find a more secluded spot – there are plenty of more obscure vantage points from where you’ll be able to get a good view of the fireworks in a more sedate setting.
