Lions seeking less 'bang' in fee for fireworks stand

DETAILS: A representative of the Augusta Lions Club will request a reduction in the fee for operation of a fireworks stand at Monday night's meeting of the Augusta City Council.
A.J. Hefel, chairman of the Airport Advisory Board, will also discuss business with the governing body.
The Council convenes at 7 p.m. Monday in the upstairs councilroom of City Hall, Sixth & School. The meetings are televised live on cable Channel 7
Under New Business the Council will:
• Consider a mowing agreement with Williams Petroleum.
• Appoint Jim Sutton as a second representative to the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency (KMEA)
• Name someone to the Capital Improvement Plan Review Committee.
• Conduct an executive session on personnel.
