Fireworks Display Sunday in Boiling Springs

Details:Boiling Springs’ annual Labor Day fireworks display will take place Sunday.

The event, hosted by the Bubbler Foundation, will begin at 7 p.m. at Ecker Stadium at South Middle Township School District.

“We always do it the night before Labor Day,” explained Duff Manweiler, who coordinates the event.

The Carlisle Town Band will perform from 7 to 8 p.m. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Seating is available in the bleachers or on the grass surrounding the field.

Fireworks will begin at dusk, around 8:30 p.m., and will last approximately 30 minutes.

In the event of rain, the fireworks will be held Monday.

Manweiler said he has raised most of the $14,000 needed for the fireworks and other entertainment and costs.

“Right now, we’re within $1,200 of our goal and I’m still getting some checks,” he said.

Some of the contributions from businesses or individuals were not as much this year as last, he said, but he was pleased with the continued support for the activity.

“It’s all about the kids and the community,” Manweiler said.
