With the theme of “I progress together with my motherland,” the mass pageant will be divided into seven parts including “laying the foundation,” “reform and opening-up,” “a leap-forward in the century,” “scientific development,” “outstanding achievements,” ”splendid China” and “bright future.” The mass pageant will involve 200,000 people and 60 floats.

Large-scale fireworks displays will take place in several locations

On the evening of October 1, a gala with the theme of “Praising our motherland and our times, and raising Chinese people’s spirits” will be staged in Tiananmen Square. Fireworks will be let off in Tiananmen Square and other designated places. On that night, senior Party and government leaders will stride onto the Tiananmen Rostrum with representatives from all walks of life, sing and dance with Beijing residents and view splendid art performances and a large-scale fireworks display.

From October 1 through 3, major parks and public green spaces in Beijing will host parties and activities to celebrate National Day.
