Fireworks display unloaded for 2009 Boomsday Festival

Details: An explosive part of Knoxville's famous Labor Day weekend tradition has rolled into town.
Fireworks are being unwrapped and loaded into tubes for the 2009 Boomsday Festival.
Pyro Shows of LaFollette began loading 10,000 pounds of fireworks onto trailers that sit a quarter mile away from the show site on Thursday.
"We're doing the four, five and six inch shells and getting them fused together and tied up," said lead technician Scott Goins.
The 8-inch shells will be eased into place on Friday.
Saturday night, the trailers will be moved to the Henley Street Bridge for Sunday night's 21 minute firework show.
"Boomsday has a standard, and it will meet the standard and hopefully go above and beyond," said Michael Walden, Vice President of Operations for Pyro Shows.
Three additions have been added to the 2009 firework extravaganza.
Walden said spectators should look for more vivid colors in the sky. They should listen for the voices of coaches Pat Summitt, Bruce Pearl and Lane Kiffin, which are added into the radio soundtrack. Then, there is a secret piece that will make an appearance from the past.
"It bleeds Tennessee," Walden said.
The Boomsday Festival begins at 1 p.m. Sunday along Neyland Drive in downtown Knoxville.
Fireworks should begin around 9:30 p.m.
WBIR will carry the show live starting at 9:00 p.m.
You can find more information on this year's Boomsday on the festival's official website.
