Details: If you are wondering what to do for Labor Day, Indianapolis is practically teeming with options to celebrate this upcoming holiday weekend.

At aroundindy.com, you can look through their list of events for every day. They have an extremely extensive list with categories including sports, live theater, fine arts & galleries and things to do & special events. If you are wondering what else there is to do, I suggest you visit this site.

Beginning Friday morning in Military Park is the 14th Annual Rib America Festival. Please see my article for more information on Rib America in Indianapolis

Saturday morning at 11am, there will be the Labor Day Parade downtown. It will run on Pennsylvania, Ohio and Meridian Streets. Viewing is, of course, free. For more information on this, please call 317-632-9147.

Saturday evening from 2-5pm, Easley Winery presents Groovin' in the Garden. There will be free live music, you can order food from local restaurants for delivery to your table, local food products and special wine "concoctions and discounts." There will even be sparkling grape juice for the kids, which means this is can be enjoyed by the whole family. Groovin' in the Garden is present throughout the summer every Tuesday (5-7pm) and Saturday (2-5pm) evenings with different musical guests.

Unfortunately (my personal favorite of the Labor Day weekend), the fireworks show, Sky Concert, has been canceled. However, you can still see fireworks.......

The Indianapolis Indians are playing their final home game for the season on Saturday, September 5th. The game begins at 6pm, and afterward, there will be a "spectacular" fireworks show. This show is in addition to the fireworks show after the home game on Friday night. You can get your tickets now by way of the Indian's site, going to the Victory Field Box Office, or from Ticketmaster.com. Adult tickets are $13 & $9, while child tickets (14 and under) are $12 & $8.

Whatever you decide to do this Labor Day weekend, I hope you have a relaxing time and are able to enjoy your family & friends.
