An effort is underway to save Mankato's fireworks display.Radio Mankato is offering to pick up the tab - which will be about 15 thousand dollars total. However, Radio Mankato says it can't do it without the help of area residents.Last week Greater Mankato Growth announced it would not be funding the yearly celebration because it no longer fit its organization's priorities.The City of Mankato can only assist by providing traffic control along with some limited funding, but that does not cover the fireworks expense.The seven-station group, which includes KTOE and Minnesota 93 will hold a number of events to help raise that money.
