DETAILS: TWIN LAKES — Libertyfest Lager, a private label beer, will be sold to help pay for Libertyfest activities.

Created by Capital Brewery in Middleton for the Twin Lakes Area Chamber and Business Association, the beer will be sold to specifically pay for fireworks and the parade.

"In the current economic situation, fundraising can be even more challenging than usual," said chamber president Anna Moldenhauer. "Our goal is to have a minimum of 4,000 lagers sold. This would raise $2,000 to be used toward our fireworks and parade."

The hometown brew will be launched at an event 11 am. to 3 p.m. March 29 in Lance Park in Twin Lakes. Sales will continue through Libertyfest, July 2-3.

Moldenhauer described Libertyfest Lager as lighter in body than other malts. It will sell on tap for $5 with commemorative glassware or $3 in a plain glass at area taverns and restaurants. Fifty cents from each glass sold will be donated to Libertyfest.

The collector's line of 16-ounce beer glasses features the Libertyfest Lager "Bottoms Up" logo. A small percentage of the sale of the glasses will also go to Libertyfest.

"Hopefully people will go to a different bar each week and collect one from each stop," Moldenhauer said.

The fundraising progress will be tallied on a large board in the shape of a Libertyfest Lager glass outside of the chamber office in downtown Twin Lakes.

Those who attend the March 29 launch can enter a sweepstakes to win a $500 gift card.
