Spectacular Fireworks will be held at Singapore’s National Day

August 9th is The National Day of Singapore, celebrations and parade will be held every year to commemorate the independence of the country in 1965.
This year, a great fireworks display will take place both in the sky and on the waters beside Marina Bay.The water display will be made possible with a special barge bearing a crescent and five stars. On each of the five stars are 49 flares, denoting Singapore’s age.

Safety precautions have also been taken, such as such as creating a 200m safety radius around the barge. The firing will be disabled should anyone come within that radius.

The NDP committee says efforts have been taken to ensure that the show will go on even with Singapore’s unpredictable weather conditions.

Flares have been been given layers of protection and waterproofing to guard against heat and rain, and ensure successful firing on National Day.

Fireworks from China made the Independence Day across the United States

article-0-13CC8D07000005DC-717_638x431

For the past 35 years, China has grabbed nearly the entire U.S. market — with 98 to 99 percent of what consumers will buy this year being made there, as
well as 75 percent of the “display” fireworks, which are used in big, public shows.

Fireworks are a big business, with $675 million in sales just to consumers who will shoot off their own products expected this year, said Julie Heckman, the
American Pyrotechnics Association’s executive director. Chinese imports are necessary, she said, because it’s “very, very labor-intensive to make
fireworks. Basically everything is still made by hand.”

Environmental and safety regulations in the United States, she said, would force domestically made versions of the same fireworks to retail for 10 times as
much as the Chinese imports, she estimated. The industry has worked hand in hand with China, and many of these relationships go back four, five, six generations, much like the generational family businesses in the United States.

And the situation won’t be changing anytime soon, fireworks industry experts said.

On Independence Day, celebrations across the United States depend on China.

Australian Dirt Kart Championships

The month of July also sees the arrival of the rather unique Darwin Beer Can Regatta, which was first held in 1974 as a way of recycling rubbish following Cyclone Tracy and now sees participants creating boats out of little more than cans and plastic bottles. The regatta features boat races alongside Mindil Beach, while those who prefer dry land can join in the various other related events, such as tug of war competitions, sandcastle building and beach races.

Lasting for two weeks and staged each year in the middle of August is the aptly named Darwin Festival, where things to do and see include live music, film screenings, comedy gigs and exhibitions of Aboriginal art, as well as the NT Indigenous Music Awards. Also staged in August is the Rodeo, the Darwin Cup horse race and even a Mud Crab Tying Competition.

Amazing fireworks show in Sydney

2014 New Year is already passed, but some amazing shows happened on New Year Eve that night people can not forget. Like there was an amazing fireworks show in Sydney, according to the organizers, an estimated one and a half million people lined Sydney harbor for the annual New Year firework spectacular on the night of December 31. The city council said that this year, 7 tonnes of fireworks were ignited on the Harbor Bridge and at different locations around the city including, for the first time in a decade, on the sails of the Sydney Opera House, to create a 12 minutes long show, coordinated with lighting and music.

More than a thousand fireworks were set off from the roof of the World Heritage listed Opera House, having been specially designed not to damage the building which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2013.

Check below link to go to Youtube to see how great the show was.

The much-anticipated opening ceremony of 2014 Brazil World Cup was held on June 12, and the opener was between the Host Brazil and Croatia.

Since the government declared a national day off, the street of Sao Paulo was ignited by the passion from the night before the opening, and the fans gathered on the street from early in the morning.

Before 5:00 in the afternoon, protests appeared in some of the major cities, and this added a bit noisy sound for the big event, and when Brazil team won the game with a score of 3-1, the city was full of happy atmosphere and the sky was lighted by fireworks!
