Safety precautions have also been taken, such as such as creating a 200m safety radius around the barge. The firing will be disabled should anyone come within that radius.

The NDP committee says efforts have been taken to ensure that the show will go on even with Singapore’s unpredictable weather conditions.

Flares have been been given layers of protection and waterproofing to guard against heat and rain, and ensure successful firing on National Day.
