Fireworks Display Planned For Clinton-Madison Central Match-Up
Display location:Madison
City:Madison
State:WI
Date:Sept.25
Details: CLINTON, Miss. -- One of the biggest high school football rivalries in the state will come to a head Friday when No. 1 Madison Central heads to Clinton to take on the No. 8 Arrows.
The game, which will be featured as the Blitz 16 game of the week, kicks off at 7:20 p.m. at Arrow Field. The game has turned into a full-blown event that will include skydivers, fireworks and a jumbotron. “Madison central is like the new kid on the block and when we got on -- we came on strong,” Madison Mayor Mary Hawkins-Butler said. Hawkins-Butler struck up a wager with Clinton Mayor Rosemary Aultman Monday. The losing mayor will have to complete a beautification project for the winning city.
Neither city has to foot the bill for the pre-game show because Cellular South is sponsoring it. Tickets, which are $6, are on sale through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and are available at the Clinton High front office.
