WENATCHEE — A city of Wenatchee official says the test of a firework is expected to cause a loud explosion this afternoon.
Sgt. Cherie Smith of the Wenatchee Police Department said the firework will be tested by a pyrotechnics expert at about 2:30 p.m. on the sand spit at Walla Walla Point Park. The test was approved by the city of Wenatchee and the Chelan County PUD.
The type of firework tested may be used at next year’s Fourth of July celebration, according to Smith.
